The Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) refers to interconnected sensors, instruments, and other devices networked together with computers’ industrial applications, including manufacturing and energy management. This connectivity allows for data collection, exchange, and analysis, potentially facilitating improvements in productivity and efficiency as well as other economic benefits.

For the last decades for industrial sensor development with wireless capabilities, WiFi technology was extremely energy greedy and unreliable. Users working on structural health monitoring and condition monitoring were more inclined to deploy proprietary wireless sensor networks offering a better reliability and a low power operation.

Since 2008, BeanAir 2.4GHz sensor series is massively deployed on remote industrial sites. Integrating a proprietary 2.4GHz wireless technology, this sensor series is extremely rugged and versatile. It can be used on different applications from Test and Measurement to Structural Health Monitoring.

In today, BeanAir has produced wireless sensors with 2.4GHz and Wilow (Low Power WiFi) that are applicable in different industries. The BeanGateway® is a wireless coordinator used to build and manage Beanair® Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN). It supports the conversation of data exchanged, compression and IP connectivity with the network thereby reducing the intelligence required in these platforms, maintenance and therefore the associated cost.
